Actually, I could have changed the look of the blog without upgrading Wordpress but, I had not updated since version 2.2.2 so, it was time. I used the <a href="http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/" rel="nofollow">Wordpress Automatic Upgrade</a> plugin and it worked perfectly. Unfortunately the database changed in the way it stores Categories between 2.2.2 and 2.6 so, I had some work to deal with that. Maybe if I had done the regular updates things would have been smoother. I guess the moral is not to wait too long! Anyhow, please continue to stop by and comment. --Mark Eric,

Actually, I could have changed the look of the blog without upgrading WordPress but, I had not updated since version 2.2.2 so, it was time.

I used the WordPress Automatic Upgrade plugin and it worked perfectly. Unfortunately the database changed in the way it stores Categories between 2.2.2 and 2.6 so, I had some work to deal with that. Maybe if I had done the regular updates things would have been smoother. I guess the moral is not to wait too long!

I have been getting the upgrade to the latest Wordpress software message for some time now. To be honest, I'm just scared to do it. The "5 minute install" took almost all day when I stared my blog in the first place. I can't bear the thought of going through that again. Glad you made it through. The payoff really shows.
