Shannon,

Give it a go. I can tell you what I know if you run into difficulty.

Mark,

I realy like the new look. I too have been hesitant to upgrade. You may have given me the impetus to get on with it.

Eric,

Thanks for the compliments on the new look and for stopping by.

Actually, I could have changed the look of the blog without upgrading Wordpress but, I had not updated since version 2.2.2 so, it was time.

I used the Wordpress Automatic Upgrade plugin and it worked perfectly. Unfortunately the database changed in the way it stores Categories between 2.2.2 and 2.6 so, I had some work to deal with that. Maybe if I had done the regular updates things would have been smoother. I guess the moral is not to wait too long!

Anyhow, please continue to stop by and comment.

Looks great Mark. I have been getting the upgrade to the latest Wordpress software message for some time now. To be honest, I'm just scared to do it. The "5 minute install" took almost all day when I stared my blog in the first place. I can't bear the thought of going through that again. Glad you made it through. The payoff really shows.

Hey Al,

Let's just say I made it through the upgrade to version 2.6. I had a few issues with the database changing with respect to how Categories are handled and a couple of Wordpress plugin updates but, in the end everything is working OK.

Thanks for the compliments on the new look!

I *like* the new look very much - and congratulations on the trouble-free update to version 2.6!
